This is your last chance to email your crucial submission about the Winterbourne VPA to Walcha Council. We need your help to demonstrate to Council that the VPA, outlining the Community Benefit Fund for the Winterbourne project is NOT ready to sign. Please visit our website for ideas to include in your email. If you are still unsure of what to write, a quick comment highlighting some or all of the following points is all that is required.
* Please do not sign the VPA until the details of the project are know (at least until Council have considered Winterbourne’s Response to the community’s submissions to the EIS and amended project)
* Up~front payment of all the community benefit fund is the only way to ensure security of the payment and enable the Council to spend the money on worthwhile and ongoing projects.
* Do not sign the agreement without a Council accepted decommissioning policy with a bond or bank guarantee.
If Council sign this VPA on your behalf, it sends a message to the Planning Department that the Community accepts this Community Benefit Fund as fair compensation for the impacts of the project.
